Whether by car via the A2 Southern Motorway, by taking the new Koralm Railway to Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See station, or via Klagenfurt Airport – you can reach our accessible hotel in no time. We offer a free pick-up service from Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See station for train travelers. Thanks to our central location directly on the northern shore promenade, you’ll be at the lake immediately upon arrival and can begin your relaxing holiday. But see for yourself…
If you come to us from Vienna/Styria via the A2:
A2 Südautobahn – Völkermarkt Ost motorway exit then turn left towards Völkermarkt past the Mc Donalds (on the right) directly to the Völkermarkt roundabout – you leave this at the third exit and continue straight through the city center (attention zone 30km/h after traffic lights) until you leave it again and via the serpentine mountain you come to the first junction where you turn left and cross the Drau bridge – continue to the next roundabout Kühnsdorf then 1st exit on the right – after approx. 2km turn left towards “Klopeiner See/Unterburg” (see signs) – then you will reach the second, smaller roundabout with a petrol station – there straight ahead to the third roundabout – there straight ahead along the north bank road Klopeiner See (the lake should now be to the left of your direction of travel) – after approx. 1km you will see our 3m large advertising board on the left with the inscription “Strandhotel Orchid” – you have reached your goal.
If you are coming from the direction of Villach/Klagenfurt via the A2:
A2 Southern Motorway – Grafenstein exit, then turn left and then right at the traffic lights towards Völkermarkt-Klopeiner See Landstraße – ATTENTION: do not miss the right turn after about 3 km: “TAINACH” – KLOPEINER SEE (otherwise you will drive to Völkermarkt) – continue straight ahead through the town of Tainach – over the new Drau bridge – over the small drawbridge – up the winding road to the roundabout – straight ahead (second exit) to St. Kanzian – then through the town and at the first fork (immediately after the Penny Market) turn right uphill towards the lake, past the kindergarten and school (on your right) to the roundabout at the main tourist center – there turn left (second exit) along the north shore road – after about 400 m you will see our 3m tall advertising sign “Strandhotel Orchidee” on the right – you have arrived.
